Community Guidelines

Effective Date: 1st November 2025

Last Updated: 1st November 2025

Welcome to the MyEats community! These Community Guidelines (“Guidelines”) describe how you can participate in the MyEats platform (“we”, “us”, “our”) by uploading content via Eatshots (short vertical food videos), Recommendations (user-written experiences), and images of restaurants, dishes, etc. By posting content, you agree to follow these Guidelines.

1. What you can share?

You’re encouraged to share:

  • Eatshots: short vertical videos of dishes, restaurant ambience, food experiences.

  • Recommendations: honest, personal write-ups about your experience at a restaurant or with a dish.

  • Photos: images of dishes, restaurants, plating, interiors or food moments.

All such content helps build the food-exploration community and helps other users discover new places and tastes.

2. Be authentic & factual

  • Your posts should reflect your actual experience. Don’t claim a dish has a quality or feature you didn’t encounter.

  • If you reference a restaurant, dish name, price, or location, try to ensure the information is correct.

  • Avoid fake reviews, self-promotion that’s misleading (e.g., “this is the best ever” when you’ve had little experience), or incentivised posts that are not transparent.

3. Respect rights & originality

  • Only post content you own or have permission to use. This includes photos, videos, music, logos.

  • Do not upload others’ content without permission.

  • If you use music or audio in your Eatshot, make sure you have the rights.

  • Avoid posting other users’ personal content (photos/videos) without consent.

4. Be respectful & civil

  • MyEats is for food-enthusiasts from all backgrounds — please keep content inclusive and respectful.

  • Don’t post content that harasses, insults, or discriminates against any person or group (based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, disability, etc.).

  • No hateful or violent content, no glorifying self-harm, no sexually explicit or exploitative content.

5. Safe for restaurants & partners

  • If your post mentions a restaurant or dish, don’t publish false claims that could harm the restaurant’s reputation unless you clearly indicate your experience.

  • Don’t upload content of a restaurant’s interior or staff without permission if the restaurant requests removal.

  • No spammy content (e.g., repeated posts of the same dish, requests for engagement, or incentives to like/follow).

6. Privacy & personal data

  • Do not share other persons’ private information (phone numbers, home addresses, financial info) publicly.

  • If you include images or videos of other individuals (restaurant patrons, staff), ensure you have their consent or blur/omit identifying features.

  • For minors (below 18 years) featured in content, extra caution is required — avoid identifiable information or any exploitative content.

7. Prohibited content

The following types of content are not allowed and may lead to removal or account restrictions:

  • Fake or paid reviews disguised as authentic.

  • Content that infringes intellectual property rights.

  • Graphic violence, sexual content involving minors, bestiality, incest, rape, or non-consensual sexual acts.

  • Content promoting terrorism, hate groups, or criminal activities.

  • Spam, repetitive posts, bots or content trying to game algorithms.

  • Promoting or facilitating illegal sale of goods (e.g., drugs, weapons) or services (e.g., gambling) via MyEats.

  • Posts that create communal disharmony or incite violence.

8. Reporting & enforcement

  • If you see content that violates these Guidelines, please use the in-app “Report” feature.

  • We will review the reported content and may remove it, limit visibility, or suspend the account.

  • We reserve the right to take appropriate action at our discretion, including permanent account termination.

  • In serious cases, we may also inform law-enforcement or relevant authorities.

9. Changes to these Guidelines

We may update these Guidelines from time to time. Your continued use of MyEats after changes means you accept the new version. We will post the updated version in-app and on our website.
